Acatlán, Hidaglo, San Miguel
Founded by the Augustinians in 1544, this convento was named after the archangel Michael. It was funded by the encomendero Pedro de Paz and his descendants until the final departure of the monks in 1745. Despite three-meter thick walls, the original wood ceiling collapsed in the 17th century and was never replaced, for which reason services are conducted in what was once the refectory.
