Bibliography

Bibliography and Literature References:

Numerous publications have been of assistance to me in my Mexico explorations and in the descriptive portion of this site. In my accompanying essays I often add quotations from some of the sources cited below to best accent architectural or historical points. Indispensable to me over the years as an easy travel companion has been the 1997 Norton & Co. Mexico Blue Guide, whose portion dedicated to the art and architecture of Viceregal Mexico was compiled by John Collis. The following books and essays are cited in order of the authors' surnames. Although some are topic or time period specific, all of the following books and essays are cited in order of the author's surname. Included are a few primary sources.
