Don Tomás María Joaquín Villaseñor y Gómez - 18th Century Colonial Artefacts Outside of Mexico
This painting is attributed to Manuel Montes y Balcázar (active ca 1727-1760) and was a gift of Frederick & Jan Mayer to the Denver, Colorado, Art Museum. It was included in the exhibition Painted in Mexico, 1700–1790: Pinxit Mexici with the following venues: Mexico City, Palacio de Cultura Citibanamex (Palacio de Iturbide), June - Oct., 2017. The exhibition traveled to Los Angeles, County Museum, Nov., 2017 – March, 2018 and New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art, April - July, 2018.
