Santiago Matamoros, capilla abierta (basílica)

The basilica arches end at the East end of the North exterior nave of the current church. The church wall (rose colored) spanning the basilica's nave arches was once open and lead to a rib vaulted sanctuary, presently called the Capilla del Santísimo. Visible in the lower left of the image is a passageway which once lead to a preacher's pulpit within the sanctuary but now opens off the current sacristy.
