Top tier, right figure

Cardinal Buenaventura of Padua, namely Bonaventura Baduario (1332-1381), is featured as the right figure in the top tier of the North wall of murals. His burgundy-red biretta hat is one of the very few inclusions of color in the stairwell's upper murals, along with the tip of Paul of Rome's zucchetto cap and the headwear of Alexander de Saxoferrato on the West wall. In 1378 Bonaventure became the first ever Augustinian to serve as a Cardinal. A professor and theologian, he was assassinated while crossing the Castel Sant'Angelo bridge in Rome.
