Jacobo Ubertino, or James of Viterbo (circa 1255 – circa 1307) entered the Augustinian order around 1272 in the convento of the Santissima Trinità in Viterbo. He then studied theology in Paris where he was influenced by and highly regarded by Giles of Rome (Egidio Romano), before returning to Italy where he was named Archbishop of Benevento in 1302 and then later the same year Archbishop of Naples.
