Paul of Venice, or Paulo de Veneto (circa 1369-1429) was an Augustinian friar, prominent theologian, and perhaps greatest Italian logician of his time. His image appears as the right mural on the North wall's central tier. His Logica Magna (Great Logic) and Logica Parva (Little Logic) became standard 15th and 16th century university textbooks. Paul studied at the University of Padua and Oxford, introducing to Italy the sophisticated techniques in logic and language analysis developed by 13th and 14th century Oxford philosophers.
